Q - How does a Torqtec Module work?
A - The Torqtec Module works on all vehicles with electronically regulated diesel motors supplied with Bosch, Lucas or Nippon Denso injection pumps. The optimal injection parameters are calculated from the given motor parameters & sent to the controller. The controller corrects the injection regulation based upon the optimised values. The parameters also control the amount of fuel & the timing of the injection cycle. Extensive dyno & road testing set the optimised parameters.
Q - What sort of gains can I expect?
A - Up to 25% increase in power & torque over the standard vehicles power output. See the vehicle list for more details
Q - Will the Torqtec Module interfere with my vehicles diagnostics?
A - No, the module will not be detected, nor will it interfere with any vehicle diagnostics.
Q - Will fuel consumption increase?
A - The optimisation changes the motors torque characteristic, and it becomes substantially more elastic; this means there are less gear changes required, especially in traffic. This in turn could reduce fuel consumption. A reduction in fuel consumption is possible of approx. 10% can be expected under normal driving conditions.
Q - Is the unit adjustable as my engine wears?
A - Yes, the Torqtec modules can be easily adjusted to suit. Not all cars come off the production line with identical outputs.
Q - Will I have increased exhaust emissions?
A - Under normal conditions, no, a correctly fitted module the emissions change is minimal, and falls within emmision specifiactions.
Q - Will my insurance be more expensive?
A - Different insurance companies have different policies, we suggest you contact your insurance company, and as with all insurance - get several quotes.
Q - Can I remove the unit & use it on another car?
A - Yes, if it's the same series injection system or vehicle it can be re-fitted & the model number is applicable.
Q - Why use the Torqtec and not Chip Tuning ?A - No need to alter the original units (which become increasingly sensitive).
A - The Torqtec is easy to remove and can be installed on another vehicle of the same model.
A - Easy to install yourself, without any special knowledge!

Q - Can it be used on an automatic?
A -No problem! The Torqtec is suitable for use on automatics, Tiptronics, etc.
Q - Can I install the Torqtec myself without any technical knowledge?
A - The Torqtec comes with detailed instructions for use.
Q - How long is the Torqtec unit guaranteed for?
A - The Torqtec Module is covererd by a 3 year warranty against any manufacting defect, by replacement and or repair at Torqtec's Discretion.
Q - Why is the higher power not proposed by the original car manufacturers?
A - Probably for tax reasons, given that the road tax in some countries is proportional to the original power of the engine. Also, in
some countries, the official importers (e.g.: VW) propose an increase in power as an option.
